1. Temporary Server File Storage
When you upload files using Nitip - Quick Share, the files are temporarily saved to the server's storage directory (uploads/) so that connected devices in your local room can preview or download them.
2. Automatic 24-Hour Expiration & Deletion
Nitip runs a background cleanup process every hour. Any file or shared item older than 24 hours is automatically removed from the room history and permanently unlinked and deleted from server storage.
3. Local IP Network Room Grouping
Devices are grouped into sharing rooms based on their network IP address (detected via server headers). Anyone connected to the exact same Wi-Fi router or local gateway will see shared items in that room. No personal account credentials, passwords, or emails are collected.
4. Path Traversal & File Download Security
The file download route incorporates strict path sanitization (using path.basename) to prevent path traversal attacks. Additionally, download and preview URLs return a X-Robots-Tag: noindex header to prevent search engines from indexing uploaded user files.
Important Privacy Note
Nitip - Quick Share is designed for fast, convenient temporary sharing on trusted local networks. Files stored on the server are not end-to-end encrypted; therefore, do not use Nitip to transfer highly sensitive personal data, passwords, or confidential credentials.
